Day 5: Monmouth II, anyone?

" ... I curse you just for sharing." -- I Wish I Was Your Mother (1973)

Just a lyric, everyone. By no means will I curse you for sharing your observations on the second Monmouth show.

Please comment and let us all know how it went. Again -- what was played, what was said, who was there and how did everyone look?

I'm in transit, headed to Newark, Dublin and, eventually, London. Eager to see everyone next week.

If you can help with news about Monmouth, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

UPDATE: C'mon everybody -- how does Pete look?

  1. Saturday was so much better than Friday. Ian reckoned it was down to his bargain 12 bottles of £5 M&S cava. Set list the same as Friday, with the addition of Original Mixed Up Kid & Like A Rolling Stone. They look & sound fantastic, really hope Buffin can at least play congas in acoustic section in London, it simply isn's the same without him and that will make Hammersmith even more special than Monmouth.

  3. All reports are that Pete is still a R&R Star. Have a look: From Adrian's unappreciated website: http://www.hunter-mott.com/gallery/2009/index.html Here is the best shot IMHO of Overend http://www.hunter-mott.com/gallery/2009/images/20090926_18.html By the way. I posted the setlist, but I nicked it from RTM, just gave em credit.

  4. Went on the Friday night, as a fan for the last 40 years I never thought I'd see the day. Enjoyed the whole show great in such a small theatre but it probably won't match the atmosphere of the London gigs. Crowd were farly constrained but maybe like me they just sat in awe !

  5. Hi Went to the Friday Monmouth show. Really felt quite emotional. Starting with Jupiter and then into Hymn was fantastic and it sounded great. Pete looked quite shocked by the response at first but as other posts have said really got into his stride. A great part of the Mott 'sub-culture' were the guitars they used and the show didn't disappoint - most of the famous ones were on display !. It would be great to see Buff but Martin Chambers is a fantastic drummer and a huge Mott fan and really drove the performance. Roll on Hammersmith - saturday night for me - Can't wait - any news on Saturdays support ? Best wishes to all my fellow Hooplers
